Pulmonology is an internal medicine subspecialty helping a pulmonologist to possess specialized knowledge and skill in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary (lung) conditions and diseases. Respiratory research is concerned with the function of the respiratory system, including the lungs and bronchial tubes.
